Three lenses but promise of powerful performance!
The Galaxy S24 series has been launched for some time, but leaks about the upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra have started to appear on the internet. According to previous rumors, the S25 series may not include a special battery that is expected to have more battery capacity. Instead, Samsung may use AI to save battery, potentially leading to better battery life.
Important information about the triple camera system!
The latest information given by leaker @ISAQUES81 is about the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Camera System shares three new aspects of the S25 Ultra. According to reports, Samsung is testing early prototypes of its upcoming Ultra flagship. According to them, the S25 Ultra prototype has only three cameras on the back instead of the four cameras present in previous models. These three cameras are – the main lens, the ultra-wide lens, and a single periscope telephoto lens.
Goodbye to weak telephoto lenses!
Samsung has reportedly removed the “weak” 3x telephoto module in the Galaxy S25 Ultra and aims to compensate for it with digital zoom. The company has been experimenting with zoom cameras at least since the previous model, where they ditched the “weak” 10MP 10x telephoto lens for a 50MP 5x lens. And this phone does really well with long-range zoom with the high-resolution 5x camera and the AI capabilities present. It’s not theoretically impossible to implement something similar in the 3x range.
Better light capturing and variable zoom in Galaxy S25 Ultra!
The Galaxy S25 Ultra main camera retains the same sensor size and resolution. However, the sensor will likely capture more light with a larger aperture. More light entering the sensor is usually beneficial for the ISP and in turn gives better results. Good news! Samsung Galaxy S21 series gets One UI 6.1 update, many new features added
The periscope telephoto uses a larger sensor than the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which can improve detail in zoomed shots. But the most notable change is the inclusion of variable zoom which is crucial for image quality in zoomed shots. Variable zoom means using some of the same measurements as dedicated cameras that will create a larger image on the sensor. No cropping means there will be little or no loss of detail in the zooming process.
However, unlike the Xperia 1 V (which offers 3.5x – 5.2x continuous optical zoom), the Galaxy S25 Ultra will offer two fixed focal lengths – the first between 4 and 5x zoom and the second between 6 and 7x zoom. This is like combining two separate zoom cameras (as it is now) into one module. The phone will still use digital zoom for values between the two focal lengths. Still, the two fixed focal lengths are pretty close to each other and the loss in quality won’t be too noticeable.
