We had earlier reported that Xiaomi is working on a buttonless smartphone, codenamed ‘zhuque’. The device was supposed to be the brand’s first buttonless MIX model. However, Xiaomi actually tested a smartphone with physical buttons 1.5 years ago and gave up on launching it. Now, we see the device maker introducing a model with physical buttons once again.
Let’s take a look at Xiaomi’s first buttonless smartphone ‘Wangshu’. We found some prototype images shared on the famous Chinese forum CoolAPK.
Meet the unreleased “Wangshu” prototype!
Xiaomi has a mysterious MIX smartphone codenamed ‘Wangshu’. This smartphone did not have physical buttons and had a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Also, this device had an under-screen camera and 200W fast charging support. When we analyze the MIUI code, we think that the codename ‘Wangshu’ belongs to this prototype MIX device.
The images of the Wangshu prototype were shared on China’s CoolAPK forum. The user @Einewill who shared these images also revealed the technical specifications of the device. We are adding the images of this particular MIX smartphone below:
This particular smartphone with the MIX logo on the top and bottom had no physical buttons. Xiaomi tested its first device with physical buttons 1.5 years ago. The ‘Wangshu’ had a 2K 120Hz LTPO display and a 4500mAh battery. Everyone wanted this particular device to be introduced, but Xiaomi gave up a long time ago. As mentioned above, the smartphone is impressing with 200W wired and 50W wireless charging support.

In short, the first buttonless Xiaomi smartphone is “Wangshu”. The Chinese brand has tested several prototype MIX devices, but has not released any of them to the end user. Now it is developing a new buttonless device with ‘zhuque’, we hope that Xiaomi will introduce this smartphone to its users.
