Nothing’s sub-brand CMF Phone 1 has launched its first phone in the market. We are talking about CMF Phone 1, which is a budget device of the brand. The company has launched this phone in the budget of Rs 15 thousand to 20 thousand. You get to see a lot of competition in this segment.
Especially other brands including Redmi, Motorola and iQOO dominate this segment. In this segment, brands launch phones with strong features at low prices. That is, there is a lot of competition here in terms of both price and features.
We have been using CMF Phone 1 for the last few days. If you are planning to buy this phone, then you have to keep some things in mind. In this review, we will discuss those points, keeping in mind which you should buy this phone.
How is the design?
Design is the primary point for any phone. That is, whether you will buy a phone or not is decided by the look of that phone. In terms of design, you will neither get a glossy finish in CMF Phone 1 nor the use of metal panel.
However, to make it unique, the company has provided a replaceable back panel, which was not seen for many years. This is a good effort by the brand, but only time will tell how much people like this effort. We have shown this phone to many people in our review and their responses were mixed.
Some people found the design of this phone quite unique, while some found it boring. Design is completely a matter of personal choice. The company has provided a plastic back in it, which can be replaced. However, the official back panel costs two thousand rupees. The phone comes with a flat screen and appears to be light in weight, which it is not. That means the company has done a good weight balance.
Display
CMF Phone 1 has a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel, which comes with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The screen is quite bright. It can be easily used in sunlight or in indoor conditions. The colors on it come out very brightly.
However, we found its brightness to be average in outdoor conditions. It could have been better. It comes with Widevine L1 certification. That means HD content can be watched on it. Touch experience is also good.
Camera
CMF Phone 1 has a dual rear camera setup, which has a 50MP primary lens. The camera works well in outdoor conditions as per the budget, but the quality of photos is not good in indoor conditions. The phone has a 2MP secondary camera. At the front, the company has provided a 16MP selfie camera.
This smartphone does not impress much in terms of camera. This phone gives decent output in daylight, but CMF Phone 1 is not very effective in low light.
Performance
The smartphone comes with MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor. This smartphone comes in 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB storage. The storage can be increased up to 2TB with the help of micro SD card. This phone does not disappoint in terms of performance.
This phone works well according to its budget. Nothing OS offers you a very unique experience in this budget. You do not get bloatware in it. You also get an experience like Nothing in the phone. It will get operating system updates for 2 years and security updates for three years.
Battery and charging
CMF Phone 1 has a 5000mAh battery, which supports 33W fast charging. However, you do not get any charger in the box of the phone. For this you will have to buy a charger separately. It takes more than an hour for the smartphone to be fully charged.
In this you get a single speaker. Haptic experience is also good. The phone comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor, whose speed is good. We do not see any problem in terms of network and connectivity.
Bottom Line
Now the question arises whether you should buy this phone. You get many other options in this budget, but this handset comes with a clean UI experience. This is a different kind of phone in which you can put different attachments. There is no need to put a cover, because you can change its entire back panel. However, you will have to buy the back panel. Apart from this, there is also an option to install a power pack. You can change 2-3 back panel attachments continuously, in this way you will always feel that you are using a new phone.
In this you get a unique look, strong battery, good performance, but in terms of camera you will have to compromise a bit. The camera should have been better, especially its portrait mode disappoints.
If you want a phone with a unique look and clean experience in the budget of Rs 15,000, then you can buy this. We find its base variant to be more value for money. Currently, you can buy it for Rs 15,000 after discount. This is a good option in this budget.
