Apple, Microsoft and Google, all the companies have now entered a new phase. A new war has begun between these companies. This war is about AI i.e. Artificial Intelligence. Some are developing a computer with Artificial Intelligence, while some have come up with an AI phone.
These devices do all the work of old phones and computers and offer some extras. Companies say that with their help, editing photos and making notes will become easy. Birthday wishes will be sent automatically to any of your friends. This means that the machine will do many of your tasks on its own.
This condition has to be fulfilled for AI!
However, there is a condition to use these features. The condition is your data. Anyway, these companies already have your data, but now they need more data. This data will be used to do all your work in an automatic manner.
In simple words, now your Windows laptop will take screenshots every second so that it knows what you are doing. iPhone will collect the data of all your apps in one place. Google will listen to all your phone calls to protect you from scams. This means you will get many new features, but the price for this will be your data.
Would you like to share this information?
Microsoft has announced the Recall feature. This feature will take screenshots of your web browsing, notepad and social media pages, so that you can easily access them in the future. That is, if in the future you ask this machine about any web page, it will take you to the page you have ever opened.
Google has added a new feature on Android to protect you from scam calls. Under this feature, as soon as a caller asks you for personal details, Google will warn you about the scam call. For this, you will have to give Google access to all calls. That means it will be able to listen to all your calls. Are you ready for these features?
Apart from this, Apple has added Apple Intelligence to the iPhone, which is nothing but a renamed name for AI. The company will store the data of all the apps at one place. For example, if you suddenly schedule a meeting on a particular date, then this phone will tell you that you have already made some plans on that day, which will be affected due to your meeting.
All these features sound so attractive and exciting, but their price is equally heavy. For all these, you will have to give access of your data to these companies.
All this started after OpenAI launched ChatGPT. The company launched ChatGPT in the year 2022 and in just a few months the entire industry changed rapidly. Apple, Google and Microsoft, all companies have invested thousands of crores in the AI sector. All of them believe that this is the future of computing.
What is the danger from these?
AI can do many tasks very easily. Along with this, it is also constantly learning i.e. it is getting better. It can automatically remove any unwanted object from a photo. For this, AI needs a lot of computational power. Your phone or laptop cannot produce this power.
In such a situation, AI has to use external power. We are talking about cloud computing. As soon as any of your information reaches the cloud, it comes into the risk zone. Although companies claim that your data is safe even on the cloud, but the truth may be something else.
Once any information reaches the cloud, it can be seen by other people as well. This can be anyone from company employees, government agencies and hackers. Although a lot of our data is still present on the cloud, but with AI becoming common, the number of such data will increase.
Companies say that users’ data will remain secure and no one else will be able to access it. But there are many questions for which companies do not have answers yet. Experts say that any data that goes out of the device becomes less secure.
