Google has now started focusing on the Indian market. We can say this after the launch of Google Pixel 8 series. Before this, the company has launched Google Pixel 6a, Google Pixel 7 series and Pixel 7a. Since the company is continuously launching its phones in India, it would not be wrong to say that the company is now focusing on the Indian market.
We have been using Google Pixel 8 for some time now. In this you get excellent camera, good battery and other features. However, all this comes at a premium price, so the question is should you buy this phone? In this review we are talking about this only.
Specifications of Google Pixel 8
display- 6.2-inch OLED screen, 2000 Nits peak brightness
processor- Google Tensor G3
OS- Android 14
camera- 50MP + 12MP Rear, 10.5MP Front Camera
Battery- 4575mAh, 27W charging
Design
In Pixel 8 you get to see Google’s signature design. The company has given it a curved display and rear panel, due to which the phone feels like touching the hands many times. In this you will get a big camera bump, which is also present in other Pixel phones. However, design is a matter of personal preference. We find this design unique, which is the identity of Pixel.
Yes, a lot of dirt collects near the camera bump, so you have to keep cleaning it from time to time. It would be better if you use this phone with a cover. Because if it falls and breaks, the repair cost will be very high. Apart from this, this phone is a good option for those users who want a compact phone.

display
The screen of Google Pixel 8 is much brighter. The screen comes with a peak brightness of 2000 Nits, which is quite amazing. There is no complaint regarding the visibility of the screen whether in sunlight or inside the room. The in-display finger print sensor is fast. However, it cannot be called superfast.
The screen supports refresh rate up to 120Hz, which is a good thing. Earlier, Google phones were getting refresh rate only up to 90Hz. Visibility and contrast of colors is also quite good. Overall, you will not find any complaints with the display of this phone.
Performance and software
Since Google’s phones provide the latest software and clean experience, there is no scope for complaint. Yes, this phone is a bit disappointing in terms of performance. The company has given Tensor G3 processor in it, whose performance is good, but the phone heats up fast.
If you do high processing work for 10 to 15 minutes, the phone gets quite hot. We feel that if this phone had been launched with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, then perhaps it would have been the best Android phone. However, you can do everything from gaming to high quality image processing on it.

Google itself gives you many AI features, due to which the processor has to do a lot of work. The heating of the phone also shows this. If we talk about daily use, perhaps you will not even notice this flaw. The phone performs regular tasks easily. There is no problem in this.
camera
The focus of this phone is on the camera. Pixel 8 has a 50MP main lens, which clicks excellent photos. Yes, you yourself play a big role in clicking photos. The photos taken at night are astonishing. You can click great photos with this phone.
Be it portrait mode or normal, even the videos made in slow motion are excellent. Even if there is some gap left, you can complete it with the help of AI feature provided by Google. Photos taken from the front camera also look good. Excellent recording can be done with this.
Be it front or rear camera, both come with 4K video recording option. The audio quality is also captured well. Overall, if you are a camera lover, then you can buy this phone. You will not find any complaints regarding the camera.
Battery and other features
The phone has a 4575mAh battery, which easily lasts for one to one and a half days. Yes, you do not get the feature of fast charging in this, which is a bit disappointing. If the phone supported more fast charging, it would have been a better option. It also has the option of wireless charging and the phone also supports reverse wireless charging.
It takes more than 1 hour for the smartphone to be fully charged. Stereo speaker is provided in the phone, whose quality is excellent. It has a Type-C charging port. Talking about connectivity, we have definitely faced some problems while using Jio SIM. Many times the internet runs slow even after having network in the phone.
bottom line
Now the question comes whether you should buy this phone. Google Pixel 8 comes in India at a starting price of Rs 75,999. Although this price seems a bit high, but this price is right for a flagship. If you want a compact and handy phone, in which you get an excellent camera and great user experience, then you can buy this.
The company has claimed that the phone will get software updates for 8 years. The company can improve the charging speed. There is scope for improvement in performance too and the most important point is the price.
If the company had kept its price a little lower, that would have been a better option. Right now many people do not want to buy this phone because they are not aware about Google’s service center and after sale services. Leaving aside Tier 1 cities, people in other cities do not seem to have much interest in this phone.
