Counting begins?

The counting process
On the day of election results, EVMs are prepared for counting. The seal on the control unit is broken in the presence of representatives of political parties and then the counting process begins.
How does the result look?
Unlike ballot papers, counting in EVM does not take much time. The control unit of EVM is activated. After this, the result button on the unit is clicked. As soon as this button is clicked, the CU i.e. control unit starts showing the votes received by all the candidates.
This result is also recorded manually by the counting officer and representatives. Apart from the result, there is also a total button on the control unit. By clicking on this button, one can see how many votes have been cast.
Cross verification also takes place
Representatives of political parties can also verify the results shown on the control unit. Apart from this, the accuracy of the electronic count is also verified through VVPAT (Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail) slip. For this, some units are selected randomly.
Finally, the results shown in all the EVMs of an area are calculated at one place. When the results of all the EVMs are added, the final result comes out. Let us tell you that a maximum of 2000 votes can be recorded in an EVM (ECI). However, usually only 1500 votes are recorded in an EVM.
