Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has launched its new tablet in the market. The company has launched Redmi Pad Pro 5G. This tablet comes with a powerful processor in a low budget. The brand has given it a metal body, which is rarely seen these days. The device comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor.
The price at which this device comes makes it quite interesting. We have been using the Redmi Pad Pro 5G for the last few days and have prepared our review on it. Let’s find out how much power this tablet has.
Design of Redmi Pad Pro 5G
It has a metal design. The tablet comes with a large bezel display. It has an LCD display. You will get a single camera on the rear side, but its design has a dual camera setup. However, it has only one rear camera. Overall, the design looks good.
You are given four speakers in it. The good thing is that the brand has given a 3.5mm audio jack hole in it. USB Type-C port is available for charging. However, there is no fingerprint in it. It should have been given keeping security in mind.
Display
Redmi Pad Pro 5G has a 12.1-inch LCD display, which comes with 120Hz refresh rate support. In this you get a peak brightness of 600 Nits. The display is quite bright and it is visible not only on paper but also in real life. The colors look vibrant on the screen.
At the same time, 120Hz refresh rate means you can also do gaming on it. However, due to the large screen size, gaming on a tablet is not very comfortable. Gorilla Glass 3 has been provided for the protection of the display. Overall, the screen is bright and vibrant.
Processor, Performance and Software
The tablet works on Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor. With the help of this processor, you get excellent performance. The device comes in both Wi-Fi support and SIM support options. The Wi-Fi variant comes only in 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Whereas in higher variants you get SIM support.
You can use two SIM cards or one SIM card and one micro SD card. Everyday tasks can be done easily on this. Some special apps are also provided, like Mi Canvas – on which you can create something using the stylus. You can also draw on it. It works even without a stylus.
The good thing is that Xiaomi has not provided unnecessary apps or boltware in it. I wish the company could do the same in its smartphones. The device comes with Xiaomi Hyper OS based on Android 14. Overall, it offers good performance in its budget.
Camera
The phone has a single rear camera, which is 8MP. There is also an 8MP camera on the front. The camera quality is average. Anyway, the focus on the camera is very less in tablets. If you want a device with a good camera, then this option is not for you. You can buy a smartphone.
Battery and other features
It has a 10000mAh battery. The device comes with 33W fast charging. You can use the device for a long time on a single charge. Anyway, it is not used like smartphones, so the battery life is more than normal.
It has quad speakers, which offer good output. Apart from this, you can also buy stylus and keyboard along with the tablet. I did not like the keyboard very much. Neither does it have any magnetic connector to charge the stylus. Both the keyboard and the stylus have to be charged separately. Both have Type-C charging port.
Bottom Line
If you want a powerful tablet, then this is a good option in your budget. However, we did not like the accessories that come with it. Be it the stylus or the keyboard, both have to be connected via Bluetooth and have to be charged separately. It seems that the company has focused only on making the tablet. Not on accessories.
Its Wi-Fi variant comes for Rs 21,999, while the variant with SIM card starts at Rs 24,999. You will have to spend extra money for accessories. We did not like the accessories, but Redmi Pad Pro 5G is a good option.
