Lava has entered the smartwatch market by launching two of its watches, Lava Prowatch ZN and ProWatch VN. After smartphones, the Indian brand has now entered the wearable market. In this market, Lava will compete with both Chinese and Indian brands. We have been using the Lava Prowatch ZN for the last few days.
This watch comes with attractive design and great features. The company has launched it at a competitive price. This watch comes with a circular dial. Let’s know how the experience of this watch has been in real life.
Design and display
The company has launched Lava Prowatch ZN as a strong watch. It has Gorilla Glass protection. The device comes with a circular dial. It has a silicone strap, the quality of which seems like plastic. That is, it is very hard. The company could have kept it soft.
It has two crowns and both are functional. One of them is a rotating crown. Lava Prowatch ZN has a 1.43-inch Always On AMOLED display, which comes with 60Hz refresh rate support. Its peak brightness is 600 Nits.
The visibility of the watch is good even in sunlight. Gorilla Glass 3 has been used for screen protection. However, the display has a lot of bezel. The touch response of the display is quite good. The colors also look vibrant on it. Overall, the brand has done a good job in design and display.
Performance
In Lava Prowatch ZN, you get step count, heart rate monitor, SpO2 and other features. It has more than 110 sports modes. We have been using this watch for the last several days. However, some step counts are missed. Apart from this, the watch is not able to switch between sports mode or workout modes automatically.
In simple words, if you walk or run, the watch will count it as one. To count them separately, you will have to manually switch to running mode. Doing this will make the calorie count inaccurate.
Lava Prowatch ZN has features like Bluetooth voice calling, AI voice assistant, quick reply and in-built games. Yes, you can also play games on this watch, which proves to be very helpful in passing time at times. Apart from this, Bluetooth calling works quite well.
It also has many other features including music control, stop watch, timer. Talking about the battery life, it surprised us. You can use this watch for more than a week on a single charge. However, the battery life is slightly reduced when you use the Always On Display feature.
Bottom Line
The company has done a good job in Lava Prowatch ZN. Since this is the brand’s first device in this segment, some flaws are inevitable. The brand could have improved the app UI with spot count and other tracking features. However, considering its budget, there should not be much to complain about.
You can buy this watch for less than Rs 3000. At this price, this watch looks stylish and full of features. In this, you get many such features, which other brands do not offer in watches up to Rs 5000.
