WWDC is one of Apple’s biggest events of the year, and it is going to happen tonight, i.e., on June 9. As the stage is set tonight at 10:30 PM (IST), the world will get to see the first glimpse of iOS 19, which Apple is now going to call iOS 26. And perhaps, this year’s software update is not just an upgrade but can also bring a big change in the future of the iPhone.
Hoping for a change in name with iOS 19?
For the first time, Apple is going to tag its iOS software with the name of the year, i.e., iOS 26 (as it will have a full rollout in 2026). This does not mean that the changes are limited to the name only. Rather, this year, Apple is going to give its users the biggest UI redesign ever.
Now Liquid Glass looks on iPhone
It is being speculated that the biggest visual change that is going to come in iOS 26 will be the Liquid Glass interface. Under this, the entire interface of the iPhone will be more transparent and sleek than before. The icons will be slightly round, buttons and menus will look as if they are floating inside the glass, not on the screen.
Control Center has also been redesigned, giving users quicker and better access to settings. Apple aims to bring the interesting and engaging experience of Vision Pro to iPhone as well.
AI is now used in everything from batteries to Siri

iOS 26 will see the second phase of Apple Intelligence. Everything from the battery to Siri will now be powered by AI.
- AI-powered battery optimization: Battery life will be extended by understanding your usage patterns.
- Real-time translation on AirPods: Eliminate the language barrier in conversation.
- Smart Siri: Context-aware support, the ability to control apps, and maybe even Google Gemini AI support – though full-fledged natural Siri might come later.
What else is likely to change with iOS 26
- New UI of Camera app
- Simple or subtle visual tweaks in apps like Safari and Notes
- Transparent widgets and floating elements
- Updated Dynamic Island Experience
Although Apple has not yet officially confirmed these features, they are almost certain to be introduced at WWDC 2025.
Also, a glimpse of the Glasswing iPhone?

While on one hand, the glass look is being introduced in iOS, on the other hand, another report is surprising people. It is being said that Apple is planning to launch a “Glasswing iPhone” in 2027. This iPhone will be made entirely of glass, with glass on both the front and back, in no cutout or notch will be given.
Face ID and the front camera will be hidden inside the display. According to the report, Apple will present this device as a “design marvel”. Not only will it look great, but the user interface will also be completely designed according to the glass theme that is about to appear in iOS 26.
Why is WWDC 2025 special?
Because this event is a sign of a big change, not just for developers but for every iPhone user. A new interface, a futuristic thinking, and a new design language that can determine Apple’s path for the next 5 years, that is why WWDC 2025 is not just a launch this time, but it is going to tell the direction in which Apple will go in the future.
